Pomp and Circumstance is the seventh segment of Fantasia 2000. Set to the story of Noah's Ark from the Book of Genesis, the segment features Donald Duck.

Overview[]

Introduction[]

Following his handshake with Stokowski, Mickey Mouse rushes over towards James Levine to tell him that everyone was in place for the next segment. As Levine begins to introduce, Mickey then tells him that they can't find Donald, therefore Mickey goes off to find him. Levine then proceeds to explain how many people associate Edward Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance with graduation ceremonies when they hear it, when actually Elgar had composed it for many kinds of solemn events. He then explains that this march in turn inspired the Disney artists to re-create the age-old story of Noah's Ark, "with one slight twist". During this, Mickey has been searching all over for Donald, briefly accidentally stumbling across Daisy's dressing room; after the mention of the "slight twist" by Levine, Mickey finally happens upon Donald's dressing room, informing Donald, who was busy having a shower, to hurry up as he was on in half a minute, much to the duck's surprise. Mickey returns to Levine to tell him that Donald was on his way, after which Levine introduces the segment, adding "starring Donald Duck".
